Fig(ment)s
...τώρα, αν πρόκειται για figments of imagination ή figments of reality,

Nevermind, Leonard Cohen
and all of these
expressions of the
sweet indifference
some called love
the high indifference
some call fate
but we had names
more intimate.

Round Here, Counting Crows
round here,
we always stand up straight
round here,
something radiates
...
sleeping children better run like the wind
out of the lightning dream
mama's little baby better get herself in
out of the lightning
round here, she's always on my mind
round here, hey man, I got lots of time
round here, we're never sent to bed early
and nobody makes us wait
round here we stay up very, very,
very, very late

Shadow on the Sun, Audioslave
and I can tell you why
people go insane
I can show you how
you could do the same
I can tell you why
the end will never come
I can tell you I'm
a shadow on the sun.

Bleecker Street, Simon & Garfunkel
voices leaking from
a sad cafe
smiling faces
try to understand
I saw a shadow

"Lothlórien"
'Not even to see fair Lothlórien?' said Haldir. 'The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places, but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater'.
J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings:
The Fellowship of the Ring.

Society, Eddie Vedder
oh, it's a mystery to me
we have a greed, with which we have agreed
and you think you have to want more
than you need
until you have it all, you won't be free
society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
The Old Man, Pearls Before Swine

the old man sat on the corner
he had a magic ring
and when the day was on fire
he called up serpents and things
with his magic ring
the serpents flew to the mountain
changed into batterfly trees
they took the jewels from the morning dew
took the stars from the sky
put them all together
and made a chain around the world
of eyes
around the world
of eyes
the road it changed to incense stones
all burning in the day
and when the stones caught fire
the children couldn't stay away
they couldn't stay away
the old man's name was Winters
he stopped the children at their play
they felt the cold coming
and they put their toys away,
put their toys away
the old man stole all the magic in the street
walked on down the road
walked on by where the children had been
they never were children again
never were children again.

the peacock is a stunning bird
his song is iridescent
and we tap in to other worlds
while in the peacocks presence
birdy from another realm
enlightens me with colour
birdy from another realm
song is like no other
[...]
it'll all come out in the wash you know
said the green-еyed gem from Crumlin
solid soul, you're solid gold
I drеamed of you this morning
I dreamed I met you in the eyes,
and dancing from the iris
flying iridescent lights landed on my eyelids.
Lisa O' Neill, Birdy From Another Realm

Skinny Love, Bon Iver
come on, skinny love
just last the year
pour a little salt, we were never here
my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
staring at the sink of blood and crashed veneer
I tell my love to wreck it all
cut out all the ropes and let me fall
my my my, my my my, my my
right in this moment, this order's tall
and I told you to be patient
and I told you to be fine
and I told you to be balanced
and I told you to be kind
and in the morning I'll be with you
but it will be a different kind
and I'll be holding all the tickets
and you'll be owning all the fines
come on, skinny love, what happened here?
suckle on the hope in light brassieres
my my my, my my my, my my

Nothingman, Pearl Jam
And he who forgets
Will be destined to remember, oh, oh, oh-oh-oh
[Chorus]
Nothingman, nothingman
Isn't it something? Nothingman

Dreams, Ben Howard
[outro]
I live alone
I live a lonely life without you
and I may be troubled
but I'm gracious in defeat
and I may be troubled
but I'm gracious in defeat.

Slow It Down, The Lumineers.
I feel her filth in my bones
wash off my hands 'til it's gone.

Chelsea Hotel #2, Leonard Cohen
you were famous, your heart was a legend.
that's all,
I don't
even
think
of
you
that
often.

I don't mean to suggest that I loved
you the best
I can't keep track of each fallen robin.
I remember you well
in the Chalsea hotel
Fever...

Fever, The Black Keys

The Dream Synopsis, The Last Shadow Puppets
visions of the past and
impossible future
shoot through my mind and I can't let go
inseparable opposing images
when can you come back again?
and a wicked gale came howling up through
Sheffield City Centre
there was palm tree debris everywhere and a Roman Colosseum
isn't it boring when I talk about my dreams
it must be torture when I talk about my dreams.

T. S. Eliot, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
In the room the women come and go
Talking of Michelangelo.

Shall I part my hair behind? Do I dare to eat a peach?
I shall wear white flannel trousers and walk upon the beach.
I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
I do not think that they will sing to me.

I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown
Till human voices wake us, and we drown.
T. S. Eliot, THe Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock

All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are
Come on, baby
(don't fear the reaper)
Baby, take my hand
(don't fear the reaper)
We'll be able to fly
(don't fear the reaper)
Baby, I'm your man
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
Come on, baby
(don't fear the reaper)

The Lord of the Rings:
The Fellowship of the Ring
J. R. R. Tolkien
Away eastward the sun was rising red out of the mists that lay thick on the world. Touched with gold and red the autumn trees seemed to be sailing rootless in a shadowy sea.
~
... and then in a low voice, as if to himself, he sang softly in the dark:
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it begun.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet
And wither then? I cannot say.

Asaf Avidan, Your Anchor

She said baby you're my river
I said no hun, I'm your drain
She said baby you're my color
I said no babe I'm your stain
I said baby you're my diamond
She said no babe, just your pick

I said baby you are magic
She said no jun, just a trick.
